I started the day way too early in Orlando, after a night of dancing and fun. There was some pretty good food at the celebration event, including Spam fried rice and some delicious sweet potatoes. I danced until 10 and then went back to my hotel on the last shuttle.

Today has been a long day, but a fruitful one. I connected with folks from other institutions as well as my own. I spotted a bird nesting near where I and some colleagues were eating lunch.

I actually talked a bit about my books and blog and crafting my map case. I do need to talk myself up more when it comes to stuff like that.

The flights were uneventful but for a bit of turbulence. I was assigned middle seats on both legs, but managed to have aisles anyway. On the first leg, a group of three wanted to sit together and swapped me, and on the second there was an empty aisle seat next to me that I scooted into once the seatbelt light went off.

The Boise Airport wasn’t such a hard place to be in with someone walking through the terminal with me, so I’m grateful to that colleague. I got a Lyft to my friend’s house from a very nice gentlemen who thought I was 25.

There’s more about today I could write about. I had a heck of a time finding additional pads for my period, but did find some at the Orlando Airport eventually. I did my exercises on the plane, doing paced breathing with kegels – flexing on the exhale, releasing on the inhale. But I’m too tired to write any more tonight.
