I had a leisurely morning, but not a lazy one. I slept until nearly 7:30 am, but spent some time in bed just … not starting the day yet.

No problems with breakfast, which was soup and crackers. I’m out of my preferred ginger tea. I’m going to have to ask if they can order some in at the grocery store, because I want to limit how much I’m getting through Amazon when possible. And I think the grocery can order these for me.

I got my exercises done before noon. Today is the start of week 3 in level 2 of Knee, Ankle, Foot. It has some moves that are kicking my ass so far. I have really liked exploring my foot muscles more deeply, but now we’re working on these thigh rotations that are hard.

A neighbor gave me a ride to a painting class in Weiser. This is the second time that I’ve done one of these classes with her and another neighbor. I really like them. Painting makes me feel close to my mom, and doing something creative is really good for me in general. I ended up making 5 ornaments, and I like what I did.

I’m cooking a frozen pot pie in the oven for dinner. It takes longer to do it in the oven, but it’s going to make the house smell so good. I didn’t have an afternoon snack, so it’ll be a nice hearty dinner, once it’s cooked. It’s needs at least an hour in the oven.

There were supposed to be thunderstorms this evening, but it’s looking like just regular rain so far. I wouldn’t mind some thunder. I actually like thunderstorms quite a bit – except when I’m out backpacking. Then they can be pretty scary, though I haven’t had one hurt me yet. One time, on the Selway, Ambrose, Bill and I taunted the sky to try and get it to rain because it was so hot and muggy. Our reverse psychology worked, and we received an epic downpour that lifted our tent and pulled one of Bill’s stakes right out of the ground so he had to get out in it and do repairs.

I joined a site that’s just for widows. They actually do verifications; I had to scan in Ambrose’s death certificate. The group seems promising, and I opted into the pen pal program, which connects those of similar age and status (like with/without children).

I hope there’s some clear weather tomorrow. I’d love to take my trike for a ride before the next snow.
