I think I woke up at 6 ish again, but I didn’t check the clock because it was the first time that I got up all night. I’m usually up at least once or twice to pee in the night, but not last night. I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn’t and then the alarm went off at 6:30.
I worked on getting the pictures into my day 1 Snowslide Lake write up and finished that. Day 1 is ready to go, but I’m going to get closer to finishing Day 2 before I post Day 1. I feel like I’ve got some momentum, but I want to make sure I finish through Day 4. And then it will be time for the ICT trip. And then time to publish some short fiction.
I woke up feeling physically better, but around lunchtime my throat started to hurt again. I hope it’s not another illness cropping up, though where I would have caught something new I have no idea. I’ve hardly left the house this week. Until today, that is. I got a haircut over the lunch hour. It’s nice and short now. I took a picture of a beautiful flower they had growing in the salon. And I went to the hot springs this evening.
For both trips, I had to navigate foggy conditions. The way home from the hot springs was the hardest because it was so dark out, but I had to exercise caution on all the driving today. I do love the fog, but it is tricky to drive in it.
Work went well. I had a number of working meetings and that helped pass the time productively. I’m going to be adding another regular training meeting with my newest employee starting next week.
Overall, today was a much calmer day than yesterday. I did have a bit of a cry when I was filling out a Travel Authorization request for work when I had to fill out the emergency contact section. I put down my dad, but not before feeling the pain that I could no longer put down Ambrose.
The hot springs were nearly empty when I arrived, but got pretty busy by the time I left. I spent most of my time there reading in the hot tub. Sometimes I socialize, but not tonight. Although I did say goodbye to one of my fellow regulars who showed up just as I was leaving. And I chatted with the owner and the, gosh, I don’t know what her formal title is. Worker? Attendant? A friend, at any rate.
I’ve got things to do. Things to get done. I ran a load of laundry tonight, and I hope to run a couple more tomorrow. I should vacuum. I want to get organized. But not as much as I want to watch the GoPro videos from Day 2 of my Snowslide Lake trip.
