I tried starting the morning with a soda. I figured the sugar might help me get moving. I think I might switch from a caffeinated soda to non and see if that feels better. Caffeine does have a history of giving me a sour stomach and I’ve had a pretty sour one all day.

I didn’t fall asleep easily last night. But instead of overthinking it, I took a trazadone to help me sleep and got what I could. Last time I didn’t get enough sleep before work I felt like I was having a meltdown. Today, I just tried to roll with it, considering The Tao of Pooh.

But the pain in my tummy hasn’t been causing me existential pain at least. Today has been pretty mellow as far as the grief goes. I felt good about what I got done at work. After work, I spent some time resting my eyes. It’s like napping, but you don’t actually fall asleep. It’s restorative though.

And then I spent some time outside. I had an inspiration last night when I was trying to fall asleep as to how I could secure a tarp over our shed. I wove ropes through the lattice, attaching to the tarp’s gromets where they passed. I ended up using two ropes, and it’s supposed to rain overnight, so it may get tested.

It’s supposed to freeze overnight as well, so I covered up my lilac with the rest of the mulch I got from my neighbor. I watered one of my trees, and I took a walk around the perimeter of my property. I did my spinal oscillations standing out on the porch. I also waved to the neighbor below me, whose number I found on Ambrose’s phone, so I also reached out and received an invitation to visit any time.

I drove down to Weiser to the Washington County Democrats monthly meeting. That was a nice time. Good to see folks, and have conversation. I hope I’ll be able to go next month, but I’ll need to get a ride.

Overall, today was a pretty good day. I felt more ownership of my home and property. Tummy feels like burning, but that’s something I can handle. I’m going to have a glass of milk and some cookies before getting ready for bed.
