It was an interesting night at my friend’s house. I wore ear plugs so I wouldn’t wake up from snores or kid noises. I had to get up to pee a few times, and the room is kept very dark which made navigation challenging. I managed not to bump into things, but I did make a bit of noise reaching for the door one time. I was warmer than I thought I’d be. That might have been a function of sharing a bed with another person. I slept pretty well overall, though we did stay up too late talking before going to sleep.

I thought another migraine was coming on when we were talking late, but it never fully developed so that was good. In the morning, I got ready quietly and was able to exchange a hug with my friend before she left to drop her son at her parents’ house. I ate breakfast and then headed out myself. I had enough time to do a little grocery shopping, and I was still nice and early for the appointment.

My eye hasn’t fully recovered. It has some kind of residue that the surgeon wants gone before he lets me have new glasses. He prescribed more eye drops that should help my body get rid of the stuff. But the vision testing indicates that I will be able to get corrected back to 20/20 once I am allowed to get new glasses. The next appointment is in two months. That’s after the appointment I had for glasses down in Ontario, so I had to reschedule that one for January when I got home.

Since I had to pick up the prescription in Weiser, I was later getting to work than I thought I would be. I had to bump a meeting, but only one. It worked out alright. My workday was mostly meetings. The shed is still in place with the sides securely buried, except for the front. When I was telling one of my colleagues about the flight of the shed, I realized I could use some heavy pieces of flooring to weight down the front flap. They provide better coverage than the pieces of concrete I’d laid down.

After work, I ate a hasty dinner and then went shopping. When I shopped in Nampa, I only got nonperishables since I didn’t know how long it would be before I got home to refrigeration. This evening’s shopping was for perishables, especially the frozen breakfast sandwiches that I typically eat for breakfast. After I got home, I did my exercises for the day, and then left for choir a bit early so I’d have time to stop for gas.

Choir was fun tonight. I wasn’t really into “Christmas Carol Jamboree” at first because it’s very country style, but I’m into it now. I dig it. It’s just super fast and super fun. I wore the koala hat and got several compliments on it. Also a compliment on my earrings, which were also complimented at the grocery store. I’m wearing my dangly amethyst. It’s nice to have something bobbing from my ears. Kind of a sensory grounding thing for me.

I barely have room in the fridge, but I got another gallon of cider. It’s so yummy. I’m just going to have to drink it up, oh darn. And someone brought some deliciously fudgy brownies for the snack. They were cut into very small squares and I had three. I couldn’t help it, they were just too yummy. I’ve exchanged numbers with the other flute player for “Here We Come A-Caroling” so hopefully we can get together some time this week to practice. I’m planning on bringing my flute next week when we do the song.

A long day, but a good day. It’s good to know that I can still have good days. I miss Ambrose every day, but I can live life. I can smile, and I can appreciate the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises and I can laugh and smile. And I can sleep.
