I woke up at 5:11 and used the bathroom. I crawled back into the blankets and wondered if I’d be able to fall asleep again or not.

For a change, I did. I slept straight through to the alarm at 6:30.

The other night, when I got out of bed in the night to pee, I fell down. The bed is pretty high, but the problem was my foot had fallen asleep. It just kind of collapsed under me and I went down to the floor. It regained sensation pretty quickly, but I’ve been leery of it when getting out of bed ever since.

It’s still weird not to be reading news constantly. I practiced scales on the flute today. I changed my sheets and laundered the dirty ones. I did my dishes and cleaned my sink. I’d let a lot of gunk build up in the catchers. It helped that I put on my rubber kitchen gloves. I don’t like feeling the sliminess.

I spent a little over an hour sitting outside on my porch, all bundled up. It reminded me of spending time at campsites with Ambrose. We’d go on early season car camping trips to acclimate for the backpacking season. We’d just spend time outside, listening to the wind and the birds. I’d usually be reading, but I’d spend some time watching the world. I’m going to try and spend more time outdoors, even when it gets really cold. I’ve got cold weather gear.

I cooked up some cheesy noodles and added the last of the ground beef I had cooked. That’s good for tonight’s dinner and probably tomorrow’s breakfast. I’m thinking about walking down to town to check out the arts and crafts fair at the fairgrounds. A good solid breakfast should keep me warm on the walk.

I think I’m going to shower early tonight and then spend some time practicing music.
