I didn’t get out of bed until after 7 this morning. A combination of getting to bed late on Monday night and just not wanting to move my body this morning. I decided to do my limited eating window again today. I had an espresso with no milk or sugar. Typically, my tummy does not like doing that, but I love the flavor. Oddly, my tummy did not punish me for it this morning.

I had a webinar this morning that was interesting, though not exactly what I thought it would be. I’m looking forward to seeing what questions people had, because they Q&A was apparently only visible to the presenters so I have no idea what other people were asking.

During my exercise release time, I went outside to work on my shed. It has been catching rain on one side of the roof, which I do not like. I thought perhaps I could put twine around the poles and prevent the soft tarp material of the roof from sinking, but after I got some twine in, I found that I couldn’t get it tight enough to hold up to pressure.

I looked around for what materials I had available and chose a long board which I mounted using twine. It was just a little shorter than the length of the shed. It’s supposed to rain tonight, so I might get to see if it works tomorrow morning. It was good exercise getting that set up.

After work, I ate the other scoop of ice cream that I picked up on Sunday. I didn’t want to let it linger too long in my freezer. It was yummy. Maple nut. Then I spent some time looking for pictures of my mom that would show her eyes.

Five years ago today, she died.

I found some cute pictures, but none that showed her eyes. They were either too far away from her face or she had red eye. Some of them were pretty blurry, but I liked them anyway.

The Christmas one is extra funny to me because you’ve got my brother making a Pee-Wee Herman face, and I am clearly over the whole holiday, pulling a total Miss Grumpy-Gills, as Ambrose would have put it.

I decided to post the picture on the left to my social media. Instagram suggests including a song to the posts. I don’t listen to those myself, but sometimes I pick something for my posts. I decided to look for something by Carly Simon because I know my mom liked her. I came across a song I don’t think I’ve ever heard before called “Life Is Eternal.” A beautiful song for today.

After the pictures, I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. A deer startled me by running beside my car for a bit on the way down the hill. I stopped just in case it decided to leap out in front of me. No one I knew at the grocery store, so I didn’t end up crying there. And I stopped for gas on the way home because tomorrow I’m driving to Boise for an on campus meeting on Thursday. I actually got the option to attend the meeting via Zoom, but I’ve been planning on going. I want to see everyone, and I want to put in the extra effort to attend since I’ve missed so many events in the last 16 months.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to fast tomorrow at all, but I’m definitely going to get my exercises done before I leave for Boise. I’ve got to remember to bring the gifts that I decided to get for my team. Not for anything in particular, but just because.
