I feel like I got moving okay this morning. My stomach was hurting a lot when I woke up. The only thing that got me moving was wanting to see if I could do something to alleviate the pain.
I would ordinarily change out my sheets on Friday, but since I’ll be leaving tomorrow I decided to do the changeover today. My bed will be pretty much fresh for when I return.
I started to get some packing done. Tossed clothes on the bed. I’ll have to stuff them in my bag before I can go to bed. That’s a tactic for sure, putting it somewhere that it needs to be addressed. And I want to pick out my flying outfit. I’ll have to do that in the morning at the latest. It’ll be fine, whatever I end up packing. I’ll be in Chicago, nothing I won’t be able to get if I forget something.
One of my neighbors gave me a ride to the transfer station with my trash today. I was up to 3 full bags plus my bit full of cardboard. He also stopped me at the grocery store on the way, which was good. I needed to stock up one a few things so that I’d have food when I returned. I invited him inside when he brought me home so I could show off one of my Hike with Me books. He liked my photos.
I made open face cream cheese, onion salad, and Spam sandwiches for dinner. It didn’t quite taste exactly like any of those individual flavors, but instead melded into something unique. Hot and crunchy, meaty and sour. I’m glad Ambrose showed me how to improvise with my food.
I didn’t get to my workout until later in the evening. I was thinking about walking to the mailbox in the dark, but I decided it’s too cold and icy for that tonight. I didn’t want to put on my traction devices. I’ll walk down at lunch tomorrow.
I’m slowly working my way through the photo uploads. The first backpacking trip on it is from 2015. We really didn’t take a lot of pictures in the early days. But I could have sworn there were pictures of us from earlier than that. With the old camera. The first trip to our lakes. But I haven’t looked at everything yet.
