I woke up early again, and got up early. I decided to do my walk and then get my exercises done so that I wouldn’t have to do them in the evening after family zoom. It made for a bit less leisure in my morning, but I figured it was worth it because I’d be tired at the end of the day.

Today was sheet change day. It’s getting close to time to switch out the flannels for summer sheets, but not quite yet. I get chilled too easily to make that switch early. Though I’d probably have made it today if Ambrose were still around. He slept hot. My space heater.

I’m going to acquire a mortar and pestle. I read that smashing the chia seeds keeps them from absorbing quite so much water. I think that’s the issue I’m having with my bowels at the moment. The chia seeds are absorbing too much water ‘downstream’ leading to poops that do not want to exit.

There is something in the ether. Some sense of lightness. I thought I was just feeling randomly cheerful, but a friend reached out to ask if I was feeling the way that he was, and I think that I am. In the afternoon, I started to get a kind of headache, but it wasn’t like the kind I usually get. Instead of being behind my left eye, it’s more central. Like a throbbing behind my third eye. Something is coming, and not just for me.

I checked the court website to find that probation has filed a non-objection to my withheld judgment petition. I’m taking that as a positive sign. There is only one more week for anyone to file an objection that would trigger a hearing. Here’s hoping that the clock will wind down without any objections.

I made my last tortilla pizza of this batch. I do have two more tortillas, but I’m all out of the toppings. I’m definitely going to rotate that one back in pretty soon. I could see myself doing that as the week’s dinner once a month. Maybe with different meat toppings. Oh, I could even try different sauces. Or go full Mexican pizza and use refried beans. So many possibilities.

I walked a mile and a half after dinner. The evening was fine, and I kind of wanted to walk even farther than that, but with the sun dropped below the ridgeline, it was getting a bit cold on my ears. The frogs were singing all along the road. They’re still singing now.

Family zoom got rescheduled because something came up for my brother. We’re meeting tomorrow morning instead. So I just spent the evening doing nothing in particular. Relaxing. I took a bath with Epsom salts and read.

After zoom, I’ll go shopping, with stops in town and in Council. Then I’ll work on packing for my trip, and in the evening I’m going to join a neighbor for dinner and cards. Sunday, I plan to hike early, before things get too melty and muddy. Then meal prep for the week and finish packing if necessary. One more normal week and then I’m in for several abnormal weeks. The week after the business trip, I have an appointment to get my eye lasered, then the week after that I’ll be getting a regular eye exam (I hope).
