Sleep was not easy last night. My constipation was making it difficult to get comfortable. I woke at 2 and 4 before getting up at 7. I did get some movement this morning, but it was not easy.
I did my exercises before breakfast. I actually ended up eating breakfast during family zoom. My brother wasn’t able to attend, which is kind of funny since he’s the one who asked us to reschedule it in the first place from last night. I’d been looking forward to it last night. I mean, it was still a good time talking with my parents this morning, but I think my dad and I agree that it’s annoying to have to move the meeting last minute.
After zoom, I left home for shopping. I stopped at the Cambridge Lumber Store and bought a birdseed cage and a block of suet. Then I made my way up to Council. This week was a light shopping week. After the grocery store, I stopped into a place across the street called The Bakers Pantry. Ambrose and I almost went there once, but I decided it didn’t look like a place we would want to patronize. As I walked through the store today, I was apologizing to Ambrose in my head, because he would have totally been into this store. Lots of herbs, dry goods, baking supplies, candies, and fresh baked goods. Plus sandwiches and deli meats and cheeses to order. I perused and ended up getting some ginger drops and some dill weed. I’ll use the dill next time I make quick pickles.
I ate lunch when I got home and walked to check the mail. Then it was time to get down to the serious business of packing for my upcoming trips. I mean, technically it’s one trip, because I’m leaving the house and not coming back, but I’ll be staying in Boise a few nights and in Orlando and then Boise again. It felt complicated to pack for. I wrote out on a sheet of paper each date that I’d be traveling and what events I’d be doing on that date. Then I picked out clothing, and then packed into the appropriate bag (some bags are only going to Boise, others are going to Orlando).
I’m pretty much set. The toiletry bag is going to need to go back and forth between the Boise bags and the Orlando bags. I’ll need to pack my laptop when I leave Cambridge, and my heating pad. I’ve got a swap out outfit and extra underwear for Orlando.
After that, I headed over to my neighbor’s house and we played cards. He also fed me some delicious biscuits and gravy for dinner, and I had ice cream and a half biscuit for dessert. He crushed me at cribbage, and I somewhat redeemed myself with a few winning hands of rummy. We also just had some good conversation. A good evening overall.
I do think I have a headache coming on. Not sure exactly what from, though I suspect I strained my shoulder last night sleeping on my side. I try not to sleep on my side, but I was struggling to get comfortable and gave it a try and felt my shoulder protest. I’m going to try and sleep it off. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll try to hike it off in the morning. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll take the migraine medication.
Tomorrow is hiking, food prep, and mentally prepare for the work week.
