I woke up around 4:30 again this morning. I think I could have gone back to sleep, but I chose not to. I’m feeling good about getting up early this week. Like this is how my body wants to do things. Waking up naturally at 4:30 and going to sleep around 9:30 or 10. Maybe I need less sleep than I used to.

I used the early morning to finish my Day 4 write up. I just need to get the pictures in now and I can schedule them all and move on to the next write up. If I’m up early again, I can do a bit of work on that, then do my workout and do more art during health and wellness release time. Because this is my art. The writing, and the adding of photographs. Self expression. It does wonders for my mental health, especially when I get to relive my backpacking trips.

Today started out cloudy and then the rain came. At one point in the afternoon, a storm blew in. There was so much wind that my front door popped open while I was working and I had to get up and close it. Luckily it didn’t slam open, because I’d left a pillow on the floor in front of it. Now it’s bolted against the wind, though I don’t think it will get that stormy again tonight.

I ate my last noodles, veg, and beef tonight for dinner. Tomorrow and Friday will be either soup or sandwich and apple. First one, then the other, perhaps. And then I got ready for the hot springs. The rain had pretty much stopped, but I kind of hoped that not many people would show up because of the weather. There was a fair crowd, but I did get to the hot tub first, so I got the good spot. I stayed until about 7:20, when it began to sprinkle and interfere with my book reading.

Laundry was my priority when I got back. I’m not sure if I should bring a swimsuit to Orlando or not. I suppose I should, just in case. And that means I need to have my swimsuit bottoms clean and ready to go. I’ll bring the long-sleeved top to protect myself from the Florida sunshine. My friend who I’ll be staying with Saturday night called and we finalized plans for Saturday and next week, and the week after when I’ll be in Boise to get my left retina lasered.

I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with him. And I’m feeling quite cheerful again this evening. Not super tired. I think this whole not consuming caffeine really agrees with me. It’s too bad I really like the taste of (good) coffee. I will probably consume coffee over the next week between the conference and working the day after getting in at 10:30 pm. But I’m going to focus on getting right back off it when I’m home again. I mean, if I feel this good with 6 weeks no caffeine, maybe 12 weeks will be even better?
