I got up early again. And I’m not feeling as tired during the day with a bit less sleep. I don’t know if this is going to last. I mean, my whole schedule is going to be severely disrupted this next week. But I think I’ll be able to get back to this. Getting up early and writing while it’s dark outside. Then breakfast followed by a walk and exercises. Though as the sun rises earlier, I might just go for my walk at 4:30 am to spend some time with the stars.
My thighs have been itchy. I’m not sure why. I’ve been wearing clean clothes every day. There’s no rash or discoloration. Just itching. I gave in and scratched my right leg this morning, but didn’t touch the left to see if I’d get some relief. The scratching felt good, but only momentarily.
I got my exercises done, and then ate breakfast before going for my walk. My tummy just felt too empty to walk before eating. And it’s better for digestion to walk after anyway. Then the shower and preparing for the work day.
Today’s weather was very active. Clouds moving around, a bit of rain, some fierce rain in the late afternoon. It was exciting and invigorating to go stand in the wind for a few moments. To see blue skies fade to gray clouds fade to clouds bright with the sun behind them.
My silver polish arrived today. From the directions, I thought I just had to let the goop sit on the jewelry and the tarnish would come off. That didn’t work, so I tried using the salt and lemon and then the goop to keep it from tarnishing. But then I finally tried scrubbing at it with a soft cloth and that did the trick. Lots of blackness coming off the ring and the necklace. They’re all shiny now. Oh darn, I should have taken before and after pictures. They were nearly black with tarnish, in a kind of pretty opalescent way. I might have left them that way except the contrast with the stainless steel ash keeper was too much of a clash.
A very good zoom with my parents. We’re planning their next trip. I’m looking to fly out to Chicago and then drive back with them and some furniture and my mom’s fancy dishes. My dad will rent an SUV and we’ll keep to 8 or 9 hour days of driving to take three days. If we can do it the first week of May, then I can go to my 25th high school reunion while I’m in Chicago. But it will cut into my backpacking vacation time. But I think spending that time with my parents will be time well spent. The reunion, I’m not as sold on, but I’m looking forward to the road trip.
I should repack. I’m not going to a show tomorrow night so that’s less clothes to take to Boise. And I think I might as well take a swimsuit to Florida even though I’ve never really managed to make time for swimming at these conferences. Maybe this time will be different. I’ll get up super early and go do some laps. Though I think these hotel pools are less about exercise and more about leisure. I’ll repack tomorrow after work. I’m still getting off a bit early.
I did finish my Snowslide Lake write-up today at the lunch hour. All the pictures are placed and all four posts are scheduled for the days I’ll be at the conference. I’m happy about that. Now it’s time to move on to the next write up. I just keep on writing. It’s my creativity, my art. Joyful and fulfilling.
