I had some wild dreams last night. A friend of mine had a beautiful tattoo all up and down one leg that was full of flowers and leaves and actually had flowers and leaves growing out of it and we all thought it was cool, not terrifying body horror. Plus, we got married.
I woke up around 5 again, and I did my ankle exercises so I’d be ready to get up at the alarm. I also tried releasing some painful gas by rotating my body, and managed to doze off again while trying to count to 100 on my side. But I got up at the alarm, and I got my butt out the door, and I did my run. I was happy to run the second mile faster than the first, because the first one was more downhill, so I sped up on those hard hill climbs.
After a shower, I started up a load of laundry. HBO Max will not let me watch a replay of the Stanley Cup Finals, so I watched a recap of the overtime on YouTube instead. Edmonton won, which is a good sign, but not a done deal. I’ll be missing tomorrow’s game because I’ll be on the road, but I figure this won’t be the most I’ve paid to watch Stanley Cup Final games. Back in 2010, Ambrose and I went to the local Hooters for several games of the playoffs and finals, and I know we spent more than the cost of a month’s subscription to HBO Max each time we did that.
Work went okay. Another very busy day. One of my direct reports got selected for jury duty, so I had to rearrange some things that I had planned to do with them today and tomorrow. But that gave me more time to focus on other priorities, so it’s not a total loss. Several meetings, as per usual.
I worked through the new movements for week 5 of Shoulders & Arms level 2 during exercise release/lunch time. I think I might have reached a place in my shoulder that has caused another headache to blossom. I used to get terrible headaches that would tense up my neck muscles, but the Move U program has helped me not get tight in my neck like that. But I’m working through a shoulder issue, and I suspect I might have triggered something today, because halfway through the afternoon at work, a headache began to grow.
It’s still feeling pretty bad. I’m thinking of doing a nice hot bath tonight, and some senna tea to see if it’s related to my digestion. I sometimes get headaches related to that. I don’t want to overuse the migraine medication, so I’ll see if I can get rid of it with other methods before tomorrow morning. I’ll take it if I need to.
My dad is running late for family zoom, so we’ll start that a bit later today. And after that I’ll do a hot bath and early to bed, see if I can get that headache to go away. I wish Ambrose were here to take care of me.
