I don’t remember any dreams from last night. I woke up with a sore ankle. I’ve been rubbing it all day, but it’s still being wonky. I’m going to take a bath before bed to see if that helps. Plus more self massage.
I found out last night after posting that I won’t be able to go to my friend’s house in Nampa on Saturday. Her husband is ill and I certainly don’t want to catch anything right before my week off. So, I’ll drive out to the trailhead on Saturday and spend the night there before hiking out on Sunday. It will still work out. I’ll just have a longer drive on Saturday, and no driving at all on Sunday. I will miss spending time with my friend, but at least I stopped by last weekend and got to spend some time with her and her family.
The laundry I started last night sat in the washer machine all night and got stinky, so I had to run the load again. Better that I ran it again than put away stinky clothes. I am very sensitive to the moldy smell that clothes get if they sit too long after washing. At least, it seems like some people don’t notice the smell at all and it’s very obvious to me. I noticed that when I worked in the office some people would have the stink on their clothes and seem okay with it. It bugs the heck out of me to have that smell on my clothes.
I got more packing prep done today. Gathered up meals for car camping and repackaged the backpacking meals into baggies to make them easier to squish into my food bag. I do need to figure out snacks still. Tomorrow is packing day. I know I can get it all done once I set myself to it. I’ve been setting things out all week. I’m going to bring my flute so I can play it at Big Creek.
I did my exercises in the morning again. I’m feeling stronger with my incline pushups.
I’m trying to get some photos ready to print. I might enter one or two in the county fair. I’ll have to make that decision when I get back. If I can get the photos in time and they don’t melt in my mailbox. The OneDrive is being really slow to finish my download. Which I’ll then need to upload.
The mosquito bites are not bugging me as much anymore. I’m glad of that. But I managed to burn my leg a little bit on a microwave popcorn bag. That steam is superheated, no joke.
My Built puff bars got delivered today, but I couldn’t go get them right away because I was in meetings, so I hope they aren’t too melted from being out in the box at the end of the drive for a spell in the heat. I put them directly into the fridge when I finally brought them inside, but I did the same thing with the Reeses eggs that came in on Tuesday and it seems like their chocolate has lost some sort of fundamental cohesion. It was still liquid after being in the fridge, so now they’re in the freezer.
A week off work is going to be good for me, as long as I’m out in the woods for it.
