I got up well again this morning. Did my walk to the mailbox before the sun came up and then did my exercises.
During the lunch hour, I finalized my food for the trip. I still need to repack the food tomorrow, but I’m pretty close to ready to go. I should get some clothes packed for the days that I’ll be traveling and staying with friends.
A mini storm came through in the late afternoon. Heavy winds and fat raindrops while blue sky was visible. Like it was just raining on my house.
After work, I didn’t have the motivation to do anything. And now it’s time for bed. One more day of work and then I get to go and have an adventure and be out there in the wilds. I should bring my bear spray and decide to bring it or not when I get to the trailhead. Sometimes trailheads have signs posted if there have been bears spotted in the area.
I managed to get a mosquito bite on my face and one on the side of my head. Probably from sleeping outside. Either a mosquito got into my tent or I got got when I had to use the bathroom. The mosquitoes out here are sneaky. They don’t make a noise that I can hear. Oh, maybe that’s because I’m getting too old to hear their whine.
Today is two days in a row doing a protein drink after my workout. Putting it on my calendar helps. Maybe I need to try putting other things on my calendar. Tasks to cross off on a weekly or monthly basis. That might work for me. I still haven’t reacquired the habit of vacuuming regularly and I know that I really should.
Ambrose would be excited about my trip. If he were here, he would have been my driver, but we probably still would have stopped by Bill’s to have a break in the drive and spend time with friends. I’m excited to see how I do on this trip. But I’m not looking forward to coming back to real life afterwards. I’ve only got one more trip planned as of now, but I do have an open Labor Day weekend to play with. I could backpack or camp and day hike. Definitely one or the other.
