The headache was mostly gone when I woke up, but I definitely woke up tired. I nobly resisted having any caffeine, so I was tired most of the day. It does take me time to get past the need for caffeine, but I know I can function without it.

There were some interesting dreams, but I only really remember one. I snuck into a private concert by the artist Moby and somehow it was okay. He was playing some excellent music and it made me think of Chris Hill, who introduced me to Moby, and also of Ambrose, who loved electronic music.

I wanted to get up and get writing, but this story… I just don’t like it. I don’t want to finish it. I don’t have time to write a whole new one, so I decided that I’d find an old one that fit the theme well enough and submit that. Just so I take my shot with something that I like. It might not exactly fit the bill for this magazine, but at least it will be a story that I enjoyed writing. I’ve got a couple of candidates, so I’ll review those in the morning since I didn’t make this decision until it was nearly time to leave for choir practice.

Work went by really quickly today because I had a fire to put out. A recent process change was giving some unexpected results, which I didn’t catch last week because of my travel to campus day. I started with fixing the issues from today and then worked backwards from there. I think I’ve prevented future occurrences, but I still need to go back and review a bunch of documents to make sure things are going through as expected. I think we’re going to need an automation to prevent duplicates being sent, but that’s probably Wednesday’s problem. Maybe Thursday. I have to finish putting out this fire and test another update in a different area first.

I made a small salad for dinner along with spinach and cheese tortellini and the pasta sauce that I made last night. It’s some yummy sauce. I was happy to have made myself a nicely balanced dinner. All I needed was some garlic bread to really make it fancy. I guess I could toast some bread, butter it, and sprinkle it with garlic salt…

Choir was good, as usual. I love singing in a group. The only problem was I was very tired. But I made it through without falling asleep with the help of some treats at the break. Someone brought in these really yummy cookies with apple chunks, and there were chocolate cookies and zucchini bread. All delicious.

As I drove home, I could see lightning to the west, and I could feel the storm winds shifting the car. I thought about doing my Move U exercises on the porch and watching for lightning, but when I got home I realized it was too cold, wet, and windy for that. I did them standing at the picture window instead, with all the lights off so I could see the flashes of lightning. After I finished my exercises, I tried to go outside and film some lightning strikes, but I don’t think I got much. Some flashes, but it seemed like I was never pointing the camera is quite the right direction. There was a really cool strike just before I went inside, but I don’t think I caught it.

And now the storm is here, whipping rain against my windows and making music with the trees, and it’s time and past time for bed.
