I woke up still feeling sick. Throat hurt pretty bad and I hadn’t gotten good sleep. I did some work because I had a thing to follow up on from yesterday, and then I drove myself down to the urgent care in Weiser to get checked out.
I still didn’t think it was strep, but it had been going on long enough that it was worth a check. They did a rapid test, which came back negative. I’ve got a cold, and I need to rest and drink plenty of fluids. I’m going to take tomorrow off of work tomorrow as well to rest up in the hopes of being fit for Thursday’s on campus event.
Driving was a chore, but I was able to get it done without incident. Several times during the drive, I thought of Ambrose. How he would be driving me. I stopped at the Ridley’s in Weiser after the urgent care and got some cold medicine, cough drops, and ice cream.
I spent the rest of the day drinking water and tea and napping. That’s the plan for tomorrow as well. And I’ll try getting up very early on Thursday to drive into Boise. I’ve got a staff retreat and a lunch that I’d very much like to attend.
