I forgot to turn off several of my morning alarms. And I had a hard time with sleep for two reasons. First, it turns out 75 is too hot for me to sleep comfortably. What happened to the girl who slept in a down sleeping bag while the studio apartment was kept at a sultry 80 degrees?
The other reason I had trouble sleeping was I could feel gunk in my throat. I was hoping it was just some kind of side effect from the eye drops, but when I got up in the morning, it was worse. Swallowing was painful. No fever though.
I did a salt water gargle, which did not improve my situation. I believe someone at choir sitting near me was sick and now I’m sick. I did not want to pass the sickness on, so I’ve spent the day alone at home, administering soup and tea and doing not much at all. I did breathing for my exercises for the day.
I wish Ambrose were here to make me chicken soup. I technically know how to make it like he would, but I’m not up to doing. Especially the part about having chicken already cooked, which he usually did. He liked eating chicken. I’m going to play through my flute part and then take a hot shower and then go to bed. I’ll probably spend tomorrow resting as well. Maybe I’ll feel better enough to hike on Sunday. A short one, after family zoom.
