Today started so early. I woke around 3 am, which was really 2 am with the time change, but I let myself doze until 4. Then I got ready to go and headed to the airport. My lyft was early, which was fine.

Flying was long and boring. I didn’t have any issues or anything really interesting. There were some other Boise State people on the flight, but no one near me.

Landing in Orlando felt like going to a whole other world. The sun was so bright, the foliage so green, and the air so heavy and moist. I ended up going with three other colleagues to the main conference hotel, and from there I checked into the conference and then went to my hotel on the shuttle.

I had a bit of drama at check in because they didn’t want to take my card via my phone. But they had a workaround. It was a pain, but I did finally get checked in and made it to the Welcome in time to eat some food and drink some NA beer. Tomorrow the conference will really start and I may or may not have time or inclination to post.

I just finished my exercises in the hotel room. I saw a rainbow on the way back to my hotel from the bus. I’m about to shower and then collapse into bed. I did manage to get through today without caffeine. I’m not sure if I’m going to need any, especially if I can fall asleep by 10 or so. That will give me a full 8 hours with a 6 am wake up, to be ready for 6:30 am hotel breakfast, and then getting over to the conference center before 8.

I watched movies on the flight and they kept involving widows and widowers. Funny how I never really used to pay attention to things like that. I cried a bit, thinking of how I wouldn’t be texting Ambrose that I was safely on the ground.
