Several intense dreams last night. In one of them, storm clouds became creatures that attacked the town, black edged with red lightning. A dragon the size of an aircraft carrier diving down to swallow buildings whole. And that was just one of them. I do feel like I got decent sleep last night. I got right up to write about those dreams so I wouldn’t completely lose them.
Work was almost solid meetings today. Meetings and troubleshooting, troubleshooting and meetings. No time to get other things done. But two of the meetings were training meetings, and that’s an investment. Future me will have more time because I’ve trained a team member on how to do the things.
Tomorrow I’m driving to Boise to exchange my computer and monitors for new ones. I don’t need new things, but we needed to rotate computers because of the mandatory Windows 11 upgrade coming up next month. I can’t believe it’s almost October.
Last year this time I was still in Chicago. This is my first September at home without Ambrose. It’s been eventful.
I decided to get to the Midvale Farmers Market today, and headed out right after work. I turned in the jars from back in August, and bought some more granola along with some chocolate marshmallows. The other marshmallow flavor was peppermint, so I didn’t get that. Ew. I got peach pecan granola, which I’m planning to eat tomorrow morning with yogurt or milk or maybe a bit of both. That way I won’t run out of breakfast sandwiches until Friday. I’ll be going into Lovelands Friday or Saturday to pick up my order of smoothies.
I went home after the market, put on sunscreen, and got myself over to the hot springs without eating dinner. I try to eat dinner first, but I decided to try doing it this way. I didn’t like it. I started feeling lightheaded after my soak, and I wasn’t up to making my Spam salad. I wasn’t sure what to make, but then I remembered that I wanted to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch tomorrow, so I did one for tomorrow’s lunch and one for tonight’s dinner. Simple and easy.
I’ve had a headache since the early afternoon. It’s the caffeine withdrawal. I’ve been drinking too much espresso and I needed to pull back. So I did black tea on Monday and Tuesday and green tea today. The green tea was not enough. I’m going to do a black tea tomorrow and then try green again on Friday. I hope the headache reduces overnight. I might take something to help me sleep through it. My goal is to get through a whole week with no caffeine before I’m allowed to do a tea or coffee no more than once a week. It’s just better for me. My body just doesn’t like caffeine.
The hot springs did help with my headache a bit. But it wasn’t quite hot enough to fully relax my neck muscles, even in the hot tub. There was a bit of a crowd today. I left just as one of my fellow regulars was arriving. I kind of wanted to chat with him, but I needed to get home and eat. Plus, last week I stayed long enough that I sweated sunscreen into my eyes and I did not like how that felt on my surgeried eye.
