Today did not go as planned. I didn’t finish the story that is due by Tuesday. I did run the dishwasher so that I would have dishes to do my planned cooking, I didn’t end up starting the pasta sauce and pickles until after 7:30 pm. I did have a good family zoom in the morning. My dad showed off pictures of the trip to France.

I had a slight headache in the morning that just grew and grew throughout the day. It’s a terrible throbbing now, and I am impressed with myself that I managed to get the cooking done that I wanted to get done despite the pain. I think it’s the caffeine withdrawal. If it is, it should be gone by tomorrow morning. If it’s something else, then I’ll have to deal with it somehow. I might try the migraine medication, but it doesn’t feel like a migraine. Though the withdrawal headache might cause a migraine…

I thought about taking a bath, but the tub was dirty. So I cleaned the tub using my scrubber brush wand, but then I didn’t end up taking a bath. I’m glad to have cleaned the tub though. That brush is magical, even if it does sound like a dentist’s drill.

I made some headway on the story, and I didn’t turn the television on all day, even though I really wanted to play Silksong. I spent some time in the afternoon in bed trying to nap without success. I was almost asleep when I heard a scrabbling scratching sound and went to high alert thinking there might be mice. I think it was from outside, possibly a bird at the window, though I looked and didn’t see anything outside.

The quick pickles are in the fridge, the pasta sauce is resting on the stove, and I am running the dishwasher again. I accidentally let the onions brown a bit, but I’m not mad about it. It just adds a different flavor. The reason I let them brown was because I forgot to add garlic until the last minute and I was busy chopping it up to cook a bit with the onions. I put a lot of garlic in because I wanted to use up the clove I had in the fridge. In addition to the onions and garlic, I had ground beef, two different jar sauces, Peruvian yellow pepper paste, a bit of salt free chicken stock, and some bay leaves.

I’m going to take a quick shower before bed, as well as a sleep aid to help be get past this headache. It could be from the vision, which would be unfortunate, because I can’t fix that for weeks yet. Maybe months. Here’s hoping it’s the caffeine and will be gone tomorrow. I’m not going to turn the television on until I finish that story, so I’ll be focusing on that when I’m not working or at choir tomorrow. I’m not sure I like the story, but I’m determined to finish it and submit it and move on to the next story. I think it’s time to write up my Snowslide Lakes trip.
