Again, I stayed up a bit too late, so it was hard to wake up in the morning. I wanted to stay in the dreams that I was having. I had an odd one towards the end there of watching something on a computer screen. I wanted to know more, but I had to get up and work.

At least it was the last day that I need to work this year. I won’t need to work again until the 5th of January, and by then I will be home and at my regular setup. Able to control the temperature of my workspace. Dual monitors. An actual mouse instead of a touchpad. It will be much easier than the last two days were.

During lunch, I had settled onto the couch when one of my brother’s cats decided I looked like a good seat. The sad part was I only had about 5 minutes of cat cuddle time before I had to gently shove the cat off my lap so I could go back to work. A travesty!

Work went both slowly and quickly today. I got done what I needed to get done. Got some good news about the state granting a couple of extra holiday days, which means I’m not burning as much vacation time this winter break as I thought I would be. More time for summer backpacking!

After work, my brother and I met up with our parents at a New Mexican restaurant that I wanted to go to in their neighborhood, Flo. I really miss green chile, so any chance that I get to have it, I’ll take. I really need to get back to Santa Fe one of these days. I wish I had been able to take Ambrose there. I still want to climb Atalaya.

The food was yummy, and the company was good. We made plans to go to the aquarium (fish museum) tomorrow in the afternoon. I am planning on sleeping until I feel like waking up. I got my exercises done. Keeping things simple since I don’t have my bands or weights. I could use some weights though, my brother has some downstairs. Maybe I’ll do that tomorrow. Might be a nice change of pace.

I’ve been not thinking about Ambrose a lot. I had to get through those work days. Maybe now I can feel a bit more than those first few days that I was here.
