I woke up around 6 again, but I stayed in bed until my 6:30 alarm. I meditated, in a way. And then I got up and ate breakfast and got ready to go to Nampa. My friend lives very close to a Winco Foods, and I like shopping there now and then, so it was a good opportunity to get some friend time in and do my grocery shopping.
I got a decaf Americano with cream from the Raindrop Coffee Shop in Cambridge for the drive. I also had a hibiscus tea to drink along with water. The road was super foggy. I detoured into Oregon once I reached Fruitland so I could stop at the rest stop on the Idaho border.
The drive was uneventful. I had a good time with my friend and got several hugs. I hadn’t seen her since, gosh, summer? It’s been a while. We kept meaning to get together, but then I was sick over Thanksgiving and her family was sick in December.
The Winco didn’t have everything that I wanted, but I got stocked up on what I needed. And some of what I just wanted. I tried not to do too many impulse purchases, but I did get some candy at the checkout aisle when I saw a box of Bit O Honey. I grabbed that and a box of Raisinets. Ambrose really liked Bit O Honey.
I searched for the cheapest gas in the area and found some in Caldwell for $2.58/gallon. A significant savings over the prices available in Cambridge. Another uneventful drive got me home in time to make a run to the transfer station, which is what I’d been hoping to do. The last time I went to the transfer station was early December. I’m glad to get a bunch of trash out of my house.
I couldn’t decide what to do for dinner. I ended up eating popcorn and raisin toast with butter. And I took a bath and drank a new-to-me non alcoholic beer. I’m feeling sad this evening. I still have friends, but I don’t have my Ambrose, who was my very best friend.
Tomorrow will be a cleaning day. And Monday I will hike. That’s the plan. I need to make my space clean, and I need to clear my head. Why can’t every weekend be three days long? One for out of house chores, one for inside chores, and one for outside recreation.
I finished watching my Day 2 videos for Snowslide. Next step is review notes and then review photos. I hope to get some writing done tomorrow as well, but I’m going to try to focus on cleaning.

I scared some deer away when I got home.
