When I woke up this morning, the inversion was still covering the sky. I had really been hoping to see stars this morning, but alas, the inversion didn’t clear until a bit later in the day. The sun was worth waiting for.

My dad asked why I wasn’t running instead of walking during our zoom this evening. I suppose I could run, but it’s more complicated. I’m walking in the morning because rolling out of bed and walking is easy. If I were to run, I’d have to prepare differently. The main thing is I’d have to wrestle on a sports bra. But the other factor for not running in the morning is that it’s dark. Running on a dirt road in the dark feels like asking to trip and fall. I walk at lunch because it’s all I have time for. Maybe now that it’s staying light a bit later, I could start running in the evening instead of walking. Something to consider.

Work was okay today. A few fires to put out. I’m working on recording things when I troubleshoot so that folks can handle the problem in the future. I used to write documentation about it, but apparently I tend to leave out things that are obvious to me when I write things down… I might skip a step in my narration when I’m recording, but it will be visible that I did it.

I’ve been walking after my meal in the evenings this week, but since I had family zoom at 6, I walked right after work. It was nice to be able to catch the sunshine. On my way back, some neighbor dogs came out to say hello, and they wouldn’t leave until their owned came out. We chatted a bit, and I might go to a social event at their church some time. Not tonight though, since I had the zoom.

We had some sound issues with the zoom; my dad just couldn’t hear me, not matter what microphone I used. So we switched to webex, which worked well enough. I did put the salmon to thaw in the fridge last night, and wrapped it in a towel at lunch time so the excess moisture would get absorbed. I chopped up some of the onions that I got from Rich on Tuesday and cooked them a bit in some olive oil. Then I covered the salmon with the onions and put it in the oven to cook. I’m pleased with how it all turned out.

I did breathing for my exercises this evening. I’m pretty sore from all the walking this week. In a good way. I think tomorrow I’ll do one of the follow along workouts from the app. But that will have to be after my hike. I’m looking forward to another hike tomorrow, even if it’s only 3 miles. It’s a beautiful and challenging 3 miles.
