On the 12th, I woke up with just enough time to get ready for work so I could get as much sleep as possible given how late I’d gone to bed the night before. I feel like I got a decent amount of sleep. I felt more functional than I thought I would.
I worked from my friend’s house so that I could stay in Boise all day. It was a little bit annoying to work from my laptop, but I can do it. It just takes a little patience and I have to use memory more if I’m analyzing data because I only have one screen.
I went to Albertsons to pick up some lunch and dinner during my lunch hour. When I got back, I started watching the 2025 Running Man. I liked the beginning well enough to want to continue.
After work, I spent some time hanging out with my friend and then headed off to the ska show. I was going to see the Bad Times Record tour, featuring Sorry Sweetheart, Bad Operation, JER, and Kill Lincoln. While waiting for the music to start, I did my Move U exercises, subtly. I ended up driving back to my friend’s place once I realized that a) the music was incredibly loud and b) I had forgotten to bring my earplugs that I specifically bought for concerts. But I didn’t miss too much.
I had to warm up a bit dancing at the edge of the dancing circle, but I did eventually do some two stepping and a bit of moshing. I helped one of the trombone players crowd surf while playing (and somehow not running into the ceiling ducts). I had a really good time getting sweaty and bouncing around.
When I got back to my friend’s place, I watched the rest of the movie I started at lunch. It’s very different from the original movie version, but from what I’ve read it’s closer to the source material. I like it.
Then I showered and went to bed, expecting to sleep until at least 9. The alarm was set for 10:30 am just in case I got really lethargic. No need to worry about that. Around 7:45 am my body decided I was done with sleep. I got packed up and headed out in search of coffee and gas on the lower end of the price spectrum. Usually Google Maps is good at finding lower gas prices, but this time it sent me to two with promises of $3.50 per gallon only to find the price to be $3.72 or $3.69. I stumbled across a $3.59 and went with it. Although I saw two cheaper options on my way home, they weren’t cheaper by much.
The drive home was uneventful. I mostly sang, using YouTube Music streaming until the reception went away. Then I listened to an audiobook. I could have gone to downloaded music, but I didn’t want to mess with the button presses required for that. I got home about 11:30 am.
My friend had an Xbox that he wasn’t using, and over Christmas, he offered it to me. I had wanted to think about it, but now that my own wouldn’t start, I was ready to take it off his hands if the offer still stood. It did, and I set it up for updating while I waited for the hot water heater to refill after I’d had it on vacation mode.
After the update, I installed Silksong and then played a bit. Next, exercises. I started week 6 of the Shoulder Impingement program, and I started an ankle related one that I think will help with the issue I had a while ago where my foot hurt so bad I couldn’t walk. Yeah, I’m very interested in not having that experience repeated.
This evening, I went over to Midvale to join some of my fellow choir members for the world premiere of our 2025 Christmas Concert. I got some hugs and enjoyed spending time with my choir buddies. Plus, there were brownies.
When I got home, I settled down and listened to some music. I have had a lot of social interaction over the last week. I know I need to decompress. I think family zoom tomorrow will help because I’ll get to talk about everything. I did enjoy myself. It’s just a lot.
I’m going to try and go shopping tomorrow and hike on Sunday. It was very nice coming home to a clean house. I’m going to have to do that more often. That cleaning thing. I know I can develop those good habits.
