On Friday, I went to the fair after work. I looked at my photos. I won two first place ribbons and two third place ribbons for my photographs. Out of 9 total entries, that’s not bad. I didn’t win any of the special prizes though. That’s goals for next year. After looking at the exhibits, i got myself a snow cone and a burger to take home for dinner.

I ended up staying in the whole weekend. Normally I’d want to hike but the smoke in the air is pretty bad so I stayed home. I had a zoom with my dad on Sunday. The two year mark. And a friend was supposed to call me and we could simultaneously watch a movie, but he flaked and thought that yesterday was the 2nd so I spend the evening alone with my thoughts. I thought about going shopping, but I wanted to go to Weiser and 95 was shut down because of the fires.

Since then I’ve been feeling kind of hollowed out. It’s like I’ve gone through the hard day, and now I have nothing to push against anymore. I don’t know exactly what I want to do next in the scheme of things, but I’m not actively anxious about it. I can just keep swimming for now.

My stomach pain has not improved, but maybe another week of relaxing will help. The pain does not help with the goal of relaxation. I’ve been obsessively checking my stool for signs of blood, but I don’t really know what exactly “coffee ground” stools look like. I’m taking that to mean that I’d know them if I saw them, so I keep an eye out.

I tried to sleep without pain killers last night. Big mistake. I ended up staying up late before taking something anyway. No caffeine means I’ve had a tired day. At least it was cooler outside today. It’s supposed to heat up again towards the weekend, but the cooler weather has been nice. I hope there’s some good progress on containment with the Tartar fire.

When I picked my photos up from the fairgrounds Monday after work, I discovered that my ribbons had earned me $10 in prize money, which I proudly collected. That’s worth one night at the Big Creek Campground; I’ll take it.

I’ve been keeping up with exercising, though I’m chafing to go outside. It feels like my shoulder is improving. Once it feels better, the pull up program is coming online. If I can’t go outside, I might as well recover pull ups.
