I’m not sure why I haven’t been blogging lately. Maybe it’s time to formally go back to a weekly post. That might serve this season of my life better.
My deck is just about done. A few finishing touches and staining are what’s left. I’m happy with it. It’s sturdy and well built. the design is what I wanted. I’ve got the ramp in the back and stairs in the front. A railing I can lean on without fear. I’m going to sleep on it tonight. I might migrate inside during the night, but I’m going to go to bed out on my deck without being afraid of getting tetanus from a rusty screw sticking up.
I’ll put some before and after photos up once the staining is complete. I’m glad I got this done. I wish Ambrose could see it. Could be here to enjoy it with me. Oh! I can jump rope on my deck now! With the old one, not only would jumping on certain sections be really iffy, but there were enough nails and screws sticking up that they’d catch the rope.
I’m planning on getting a patio umbrella. I’ll have to make sure to put it away when I’m not using it because of the winds around here, but I think that would be nice since the south side gets a lot of sun. I might wait for spring to get that though. I like sitting in the winter sun, bundled up against the cold.
