I slept in a little bit this morning. Just until 6:30. I had decided to take the morning off work since I had to be in Weiser to meet with my probation officer at 10:30. It didn’t seem very logical to work for 90 minutes and then drive down and feel all rushed. I have enough time to take the time, so I did.
After I got up at 6:30 I went for a mile walk. I’m going to do walking for a bit longer, and start with running at some point this week. I think I might try alternating running with walking for a bit and see how that feels. The sun was almost up, and the sky was definitely light enough not to require a headlamp. I also saw that my screen had fallen out of the bedroom window. At least it just plopped down and wasn’t blown away. I need to figure out how to make it stay if I’m going to have the window open at night. No way do I want to invite mosquitos in.
After my shower, my shoulders, chest, and abdomen were bright red with splotches. Not really a rash, as it didn’t itch and had no texture, but it was disturbing to behold. I put it down to stress from still being on supervision. I lotioned up and tried to ignore it. It mostly went away, but I’ve had recurring patches throughout the day, most recently in an elbow pit where there were actually some raised bumps that subsequently went away.
Today was emotional. Makes me think my period is coming early. But I wasn’t really letting myself be fully emotional when I was staying with my in-laws, and then I was sick and not up to feeling much of anything. So it could just be the beach ball again, bursting out of the water and perturbing my surface. Every day I want him here even as I know he’s here, in me.
The drive to Weiser was uneventful, as was the meeting with the probation officer. I asked what to do if I have a work conflict with a drug test and he said to call him. He might excuse me or have me test the next day. Here’s hoping that my last drug test was my very last, or at least that I don’t get called when I have overlapping meetings. He said that the motion for me to come off supervision might take a while to go through. I sure hope it doesn’t take too long. My dad was going to call the court and ask about it, but I think he may have forgotten or been too busy today.
I stopped at Ridley’s for bread and Bi-Mart for a kitchen scale. I looked at getting a speaker for my computer there as well, but all they had were bluetooth speakers, and I’m not sure my computer can handle that without an adaptor. I’d rather just get a plug and play. But the kitchen scale I got seems nice. An antimicrobial surface!
When I got home, I had time to go for my lunch time mail walk. I’ve got an audiobook out from the library that is due in a couple of days and has someone waiting, so I’m trying to finish it. I listened to it on that walk and the evening walk, and evening exercise. I might finish before it’s due if I give it due priority.
Work was mostly meetings, especially because the last one on one went long as we tried to troubleshoot a particularly difficult rule. But I got a few other things done. I have a clear picture on what I need to do to wrap up the handoff on a project and then get started on the next pieces that I’ll be developing. I worked until 5:30 to make up for class time. Hard to believe, but next week will be my last class and I’ll be back to a regular work week again. Well, until/unless there’s need to work extra for any reason since I’m salaried.
After work, I ate dinner, and then went for my evening mile walk. I was hungry, but I also figured walking after eating is better for my digestion. Then I got to work on Shoulders & Arms Level 2 week 1 day 1. I feel much stronger with those exercises than I did the first time I started this program last summer. The extra work I put in to review level 1 the last several weeks paying off. And then I did ten minutes of staff spinning, which I’d dropped in the last few weeks because the strain of doing the community service was getting to me and I had to drop something. It felt good to get back to that.
I should probably do another load of laundry tomorrow. Cycle through some more dishes. I hope to get in all three walks and the next Shoulders & Arms workout and staff spinning as well. It feels good to work my body. And on Saturday, I’ll see how high I can get up Cuddy before snow turns me back. Maybe I’ll make it all the way. That would be grand.
