I was up late last night crying. I consider myself blessed to be able to fall asleep most nights. I only have trouble sleeping due to grief every now and then. I had a coffee this morning to help with the reduced sleep.

I sat out on the porch this morning instead of walking or exercising this morning. I watched the sky lighten and listened to the birds sing and slowly got cold. I wore warm pants and a down jacket, but it was in the 30s this morning.

I cried again while walking to get the mail. I saw a neighbor had a package and thought about walking it over to them, but decided I didn’t have enough time left in my lunch hour, especially since I had a meeting right after lunch.

After work, I finished my parents’ leftover ribs and potato from last week. It was too much food, but I’m glad they got the whole rack instead of the half. Tomorrow I’ll cook up some pasta and use some of the sauce that I made for us. I did buy veggies on Saturday when I shopped, but I might not need to use them for a while with this weekend being a holiday. I might have to chop and freeze them.

After dinner, I drove into town to vote in the Idaho primary. On the way back I stopped and bought some cherries from a roadside stand. The guy let me sample, and I went with the Bing cherries rather than the Rainier. Ambrose liked the Rainiers better, but I like the Bings. I’ll chop and freeze most of them tomorrow. I suppose I could freeze them with the pits inside and that would be faster, but I like my future self too much for that.

I was going to trike into town to vote, and I’m glad I didn’t because I probably wouldn’t have bought the cherries if I had. I decided it would take too long since I wanted to mow today. Which I did. I’m getting super frustrated with the long grasses that wind around the mower head and cause it to stop turning and strain against the motor. Though I suppose letting go of the spin handle periodically to unwind the tangles does lead to less hand cramping. I did one tankful, and switched out the strings for next time while I let the engine cool. I think I’m going to have to store the mower outside when it gets hot because the inside of the shed will be sweltering.
