I don’t feel like I slept very well last night, but I didn’t wake up feeling very tired for a change. I felt like I spent a lot of time in bed just trying to fall asleep instead of sleeping. I couldn’t get comfortable on my back, so I switched to my stomach. I fell asleep for a bit, but then had to get up and pee and when I got back, I couldn’t slide back into sleep like I usually do. I think I need to cut back on the caffeine, from a little to none.

There were some dreams in there, but they faded before I could record them. I didn’t take anything beyond melatonin to sleep, but I woke up very hot at one point and didn’t turn my heating pad back on like I typically do. I feel like it’s time to stop using the heating pad all the time. Even though my tummy was hurting last night, it seemed better not to use it.

I got up at the alarm and got the car packed up with what I had ready to go. Then I packed my clothes and got those into the car as well. The only things left to pack are my toiletries bag and the backpack I’m using for my laptop and journal. I think I’ve got everything I’m going to need, but if I find that I’m really in need of something, I can always head into town or even home for a quick stop. I don’t think I’ll do that though, I’ll probably just do without.

Work went pretty quickly in the morning. I’m alone for the afternoon due to flex and vacation schedules. A good chance to catch up on my email.

I’m on my afternoon break right now. I’ll be ordering a pizza a bit before five. I’m not sure exactly when to order, but definitely after 4:30. I want it ready around 5:15. I’ll probably eat a slice or two at the place, and then drive off. When I was packing up my camp kitchen, I grabbed a frying pan, and I asked myself why, when I wasn’t bringing anything to fry. This morning, I realized it was for heating the pizza if I didn’t want to eat it cold, so I grabbed a lid to help with the heating.

I’m really looking forward to being out in the woods, and having some time with nature as I pass this first traditional Memorial Day camping trip without Ambrose. I remember the first time we went camping, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it.
