I managed to get some sleep last night, but I woke up feeling exhausted and weak from expelling everything I had eaten in the last however many days. I got down one cracker.
I made it to a few more sessions at the conference and sipped on Liquid IV. Then it was time to go to the airport.
The flight to Boise was a little rough at the landing, but overall uneventful. I had some tears at the approach because I really wished Ambrose would have been there to drive me home and take care of me.
Instead, I got into the shuttle to the economy lot, along with a colleague and one other passenger. As we were heading into traffic, a car cut the shuttle off, resulting in a sudden brake. My head was rammed into the luggage rack with a resounding clang, and I totally broke down crying at that last straw.
My dad insisted I get checked out so I went from the economy lot to an urgent care, where they diagnosed me with a mild concussion. I walked across the parking lot to get a smoothie, and then drove less than a mile to check into a hotel for the night.
I wasn’t up to the drive home before I got concussed; I certainly wasn’t going to drive all the way home after that.
There will be no shakedown backpacking trip this weekend. I’ve got to rest and relax and take it easy so I’ll have a hope of being ready to backpack next weekend.
The smoothie is going down fine. I’m supposed to drink plenty of water for the concussion, so I’ll work on that. I did breathing for today’s Move U exercises.
My head is throbbing, but I’ve got ice for it. And I took Aleve. If it gets really bad, I’m supposed to go into the emergency room, so here’s hoping it doesn’t.
