I woke up in the night around 2 am with a shooting pain going from my left glute down to my left heel. I tried stretching and putting my heating pad in strategic places, but the sensation was keeping me awake, so I took some Aleve and fell sleep again when it took effect. If I need to do that again, I should take it with milk though because taking it with water was a bit rough on my tummy. Even though I didn’t get a full night’s sleep, I still managed to get up at the alarm and go for my mile run. It was a bit faster this morning, though still quite slow. I did my short calisthenics routine and then my Move U exercises.

I had the cinnamon roll that I bought yesterday for breakfast, along with a protein shake and a cup of black decaf coffee. It was good cinnamon roll. I heated it up in the microwave before I ate it.

At work, I filled in on what we call daily tasks. It’s good for me to do them now and then. I think I found an error in one of the processes that I’ll need to address.

I’ve been expecting my period to show up for a couple of days now, but it’s stubbornly refusing. I’ve got a headache this evening, which could be a harbinger of the period or it could be because I didn’t have enough caffeine today. I’ve been having caffeine too regularly lately, so I’ll get withdrawal symptoms when I skip a day. Annoying.

During my lunch hour, I got to the post office to mail in my materials to get a passport book. I held back some tears when I started to drive, because I didn’t want to go into town all teary-faced. I was supposed to get a passport book a few years ago, but there was an issue with how they read the money order and they sent me a card instead. I tried so hard to get a hold of someone to ask what I should do and if they could rectify the mistake since the money order was clearly for the book amount, but it was impossible. I’m only now getting around to doing it. I hope it goes smoothly, and that I either get the new book or the old card (which is still valid) before I need to fly again. I should; I’m not planning any trips until December.

After work, we had a brief family zoom to say happy birthday to one of my nieces. I made myself another salad for dinner. I’m low on open Spam and I don’t want to open another can before a long weekend when I’ll be out camping, so I used a can of mackerel in olive oil for the protein. And instead of adding dressing, I Just added rice wine vinegar to combine with the olive oil the fish was packed in. It was a yummy salad.

And today is the day the hot springs re-opened so I got there and spent some time soaking and reading. There were some other people I vaguely recognized (including one couple who likes to play music, which is a bit annoying, but not super annoying) there, but none of the regulars that I know well. I spent some time floating in the big pool to cool off from the hot tub.

I’ve got to get packed tomorrow so I can be ready to leave on Saturday morning. I think I’ll get the veggie pizza this time. Even though I prefer plain cheese pizza, it will be good to have some veggies while I’m out there. I’ll need to pack some warm clothes for overnight. My planned destination is over 7000 feet. It will be cooler up there, and it’s not that hot down here, especially in the early morning hours.
