I got up and got moving this morning. I made it out to hike up Brownlee/Cuddy in the morning. I started hiking, paying close attention to the way I was placing my foot, and having my ankles and thighs turned out with each step.
I realized, as I hiked, that I was feeling ill. I’ve got chest congestion going on. My muscles were tingling and I hadn’t even gotten 1 mile in. I bulled my way through 1.6 miles up before I decided to turn around. I came upon two hikers going up on my way down, plus their dog. The tree that’s been down and causing a detour all winter has finally been cleared from the trail, huzzah.
On the way home, I stopped at the baked goods stand in town and bought a round of sourdough for $10. It’s pretty tasty. I had chicken soup and marinated my body in heat when I got home to help with healing. I’ve got a bit of a headache now. I’m hoping to walk in the morning, but I might not tomorrow. I think it’s important that I start walking my hill again. Conditioning. But not if I’m still feeling sick in the morning.
