I woke up a bit before the alarm this morning. It was raining. I was nervous, because I was going to call my aunt even though she told me not to bother because I hadn’t picked up that I should have called her sooner. I’ll send her a message tomorrow. And I think I’ll send her a care package.

I had planned on doing yard work in the morning when it was cool, but it kept raining on and off, so I didn’t want to go outside. Instead, after making my phone call, leaving a message, and eating breakfast, I started to clean. I cleaned my bathrooms, and I finally vacuumed all the rooms and mopped all the moppable rooms. I actually moved furniture around to make sure that I got the places that I usually skip.

I’d been meaning to mop my floor for years. Ambrose had been in charge of keeping the kitchen floor clean. So I’m glad to have gotten that done. I feel a lot more organized. I do still have to finish clearing off kitchen table and counters, but I feel good about the housework that I got done today.

I left my ringer on, just in case my aunt called. I did get a phone call, but it was from my neighbor with an offering of tomatoes. On my way back from the transfer station, I stopped by and picked those up along with some onions. I like having neighbors who grow more food than they can eat or preserve.

I stopped by the grocery store on my way back from feeding my friend’s dog. In addition to chatting with the clerks, I ran into a friend and caught up with her a bit. She’s got her own place now, and I should be seeing her at the hot springs once they open up again in September.

I hope to get some yard work done tomorrow morning before I go to Nampa. But the higher priority for the morning is exercises. I did my next Shoulder Impingement program workout early this morning, and I want to get into the habit of doing that. Especially if I’m going to the post office sometime during lunch next week.

A friend at Big Creek Lodge let me know that they’d sold some of the books that I’d brought in for them to have for sale. I have another order that I need to bring in for them. Unless I take a trip to Colorado soon, I’ll plan on heading out there next weekend, with a few days off so it’s not just one night this time. I’m not sure if I’m going to backpack or not. I need to decide that soon. I want to. But I haven’t been training this summer. I’ve been stuck inside, in pain and hiding from the smoke for weeks.

I’ve never done an out and back in the Frank, just loops. Maybe an out and back would solve my itinerary. I keep trying to figure out a five night trip and ending up with six nights. Four nights might be good. I could do jeep camp, then Mosquito Ridge, then Sheepeater, then back to Mosquito, with the option of pressing on or doing one last night at jeep camp, depending on how I feel. I’d just need to bring an extra breakfast. Four to five nights. But maybe the following week instead of the week after next…

Every time I think the pain might be going away, the night comes and brings with it the return of the mystery pain. What sleep aid shall I try tonight?
