I had to get up early and get moving this morning so I could get to my mammogram on time. For the first time in a long time, I just got up when the alarm went off at 5:30. I left the house around 6:45 and arrived a bit early at the Fruitland facility.

Overall, the experience was a quick and pleasant one. The staff were all friendly, and the squishing didn’t last very long. The technician didn’t need to retake any angles, and I appreciated that.

I got back home to work by 9:30. I actually managed to focus in on a project, possibly because I was recording myself for training purposes. Then I had a bunch of meetings. I felt more connected with my job today, and I hope I can continue to do that.

After work, I got some mowing done. I finished my can of gasoline and did my future self a favor by going into town to fill it up today. I figured that if I wanted until tomorrow after work, I might encounter weekend traffic going up 95 that would make the excursion more annoying than if I went tonight. There was very little traffic tonight, so I think I made the right choice.

My tree’s new leaves are looking good.

Flattened grass where some animal has been sleeping.

Almost done with the south side’s first pass.

I listened to music on the drive. Some songs came on that reminded me of Ambrose, like “Running up that Hill” by Kate Bush. I had heard the cover of that song by the band Placebo and liked it before we met, and Ambrose is the one who introduced me to the music of Kate Bush. I remember the first time we listened to her album Never for Ever I didn’t like it. I didn’t like her voice and “Babooshka” in particular confused me. But the song was catchy and stuck in my head, which led me to reevaluate my stance. Hounds of Love is now an album that I adore.
