Yesterday was a long day. I took a sleep aid Wednesday night, and I got more sleep, but I still woke up tired. Same with last night and this morning.
I got a haircut yesterday. I’m glad to have short fuzzy hair again. I’m growing out the top until I get tired of having it long, but I’m continuing to get the back and sides trimmed nice and tight.
Family zoom last night was good. I recorded one of my Dad’s stories at my brother’s behest, and I’m glad I did.
It feels like there have been little emergencies at work all week. It makes sense, because we did just start a whole new way of processing applications at the start of the month, and we’re learning all the little things that still need adjustment with the new way of doing things. Plus we’ve still got pieces of the project to complete. It’s hectic, which is good in some ways and really hard in others.
I started week 6 of the Shoulder Impingement level 2 program today. I’ve been looking forward to this week because it introduces scap push ups and scap dips. I really like those movements. I am looking forward to progressing to full push ups. And maybe, someday, full dips without assistance.
After work, I was just settling in to eat dinner when someone knocked on my door. A neighbor had sent him over to me to say hello. I invited him inside and we had a nice little chat. I’m invited to his place on my way out to camp this evening and I just might stop by. It’s good to know more people in the town.
I got some nice sunset pictures last night. Including one of the moon, which was extra special because on the family zoom my brother showed us his view of the moon. I’m going to the Brownlee Campground tonight so I can get up and do a hike. If I’m feeling good, I’ll do the 9 mile loop. If I’m feeling poor, I’ll do the 4 mile loop. Either way, I’m going to sleep under the stars and move my body in nature tomorrow. I sorely need both of those things.
I feel like I have been papering over my grief. Trying to live as if it’s not there, which creates blind spots in my inner vision. And leaves room for monsters to come in and set up their energy draining tricks. The monsters would prefer I stay at home, because going out into the woods isn’t good for them. It’s good for me.
