I got up not long after the alarm this morning. I was motivated to get moving so that I could get on the road to Nampa in good time. I planned to leave as close to 7:30 as I could manage. I ended up not showering, but that was okay.
I got to spend the morning with my best friend and her three year old son. He’s still shy around me, especially at first. We went out and got his hair cut and then to Target and then a Chinese buffet for lunch. After he went down for his nap, she and I had a chance to talk without little ears hearing every word. It was nice to have that time, and also fun to play with Conor once he warmed up to me.
I went shopping afterwards. The traffic in Nampa these days is just awful. Nearly every light changed with cars stuck in the intersection. But the grocery store wasn’t too crowded. I don’t really have a plan for next week’s dinners. Maybe I’ll make beans. But I’ll have to get some soaking soon if I want to do that. Best to start that in the morning. Maybe I’ll toss in those ham hocks…
The drive home went smoothly. I listened to music. Often, I’ll skip around in a shuffled playlist, but today I decided to just listen to whatever came up, as if Ambrose were choosing the songs for me.
I got my shoulder exercises done after eating dinner. I had one of my lunch soups that I didn’t eat last week. I’ll have the last one for tomorrow’s lunch. And I’ve got an oatmeal for tomorrow’s breakfast. I’m going to just do the shoulder program now, which will give me more time to focus on mowing my yard. And writing. Time to shower and then go to bed.
