I executed my plan for today, basically. I got my fasting blood draw done in the morning and checked out the Agape Cafe in Payette. The food was decent, but I’m not sure I’d go back to sit inside again. I learned at the bank that I will need to get the IRS to reissue the refund check to solely me, so that was disappointing as heck.
And then I learned that the True Value in Payette is not that great. I was not impressed. I went to the ACE inside the Ridley’s in Weiser for a new hose and some mulch. I ended up getting red mulch, for no particular reason. I decided that my tree needed the area around it weeded and then covered with proper mulch. They only had big bags, so I’ll have enough for the lilac bush, too. I did forget to get a watering can.
I had taquitos for lunch when I got home, along with some blueberries I bought at the Payette Albertsons. And then I got down to the business of mowing. I mowed for a tank, then weeded the tree, chatted with my neighbor, and placed the mulch. Then I did another tank of mowing. I figured that was enough since I had family zoom and it was already after 4. I took some time to relax on the porch with a popsicle before I showered and started cooking dinner.
I made box pasta with canned chicken and veggies. Fresh red bell pepper, canned water chestnuts, and frozen green onions that I froze. I skipped the spicy stuff this time since my tummy has been acting up. I want to see if it makes a difference.
Family zoom was good. I finished cooking and ate dinner while on it. I watered my tree a little after 8, after I had done my Shoulder Impingement level 2 workout for the day. I used the old hose so I could mark where it was leaking and see about a repair. I’ll try some tape on it tomorrow. Might try something else if that doesn’t work.
It felt good to have today off. Today being 23 months. Closing right in on all the most painful anniversaries. If I had had to work, it would have been difficult to keep myself on track. Not having to work, I was able to fill the day with things that kept me busy and active. I miss CrossFit. The kind of exercise that just leaves me shaking on the floor.
I hope the two bouts of mowing will be enough to get me to sleep tonight. Tomorrow is list making day. I’ll pack the backpacks and gather all the camping and cooking gear and write down everything that needs to be transferred from the Crosstrek to the rental. I think I’ve got a solid plan for meals, but I’ll solidify it for sure tomorrow. I’m thinking peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunches, oatmeals for breakfasts, and canned chicken with rice for dinners. Maybe add in some dried veggies. And a list of everything to buy at REI. So far the list, other than clothing for the girls is, trowel. I have three trowels, but one of them is broken until I can get a metal file and smooth out that rough edge. And I kind of want to get us all matching buffs. Corny, but I don’t care. That kind of stuff is good memories. I still have the matching hats that Ambrose and I wore early in our backpacking journey together.
