I woke up at 4:30 and then again just before the alarm. I know I dreamed, but the only thing I remember from the dream is ‘June 6th.’ It was nice to get up a bit before 6 and know that I could take a walk instead of trying to squeeze in exercises before breakfast and then exercises again at lunch. It’s so bright out now I don’t need a headlamp. The neighbor corgis were out and decided to follow me, though they didn’t follow me all the way home this time. I’m glad, because there’s construction going on with the fiber installation and I wouldn’t want the dogs to be running home by themselves past that.
I needed to get laundry done today, and I did. If I hadn’t, then I wouldn’t have had a sun hoodie for today’s mowing session. And I do prefer to wear those when I’m outdoors. That’s less sunscreen I need to apply. I also got some dishes done. Though I didn’t clean up all the dinner prep dishes from yesterday.
It was hard to stay awake and focused today at work. The mowing is pretty serious exercise and I did a lot of it in the last two days. I think I’ll get used to it, but I’m still on the learning curve. There are more holes and ruts than I managed to fill so far. I wish there was an easy way to just smooth out the land in my mowing area. For now, I’m muscling my way through.
I didn’t check the mail today. My exercises during lunch/release time took too long. I did make a sandwich for lunch today. I’ve been feeling too hot eating soup and then walking so I’m trying sandwiches for a while. It was a yummy sandwich, turkey and sharp cheddar on Dave’s Killer bread. I also had some raspberries for a bit more fiber and as a sweet treat.
The clouds put on another show this afternoon. I saw them from the window of my office and had step outside to take some pictures.
After dinner, I got to mowing. There were no issues with the mower today. Just issues with the terrain and the thickness of the vegetation. I did some of the ruttier spots where the wheels of the mower tend to get stuck and I need to use my hip to get it out or back up and take a run to get past it. And the grasses growing near what used to be a chicken run were so thick I had to kind of roll back and forth to get through. A hard session.
But the weather was beautiful for it. Sunny and breezy, around 60. I watered my new tree and then sat on my porch for a while after. Then a rinse off shower and relaxing for the rest of the evening. I might have been able to fit in another mowing session this evening, but I want to be less tired tomorrow, not more.
This morning at a meeting at work there was an ice breaker question that almost brought me to tears. I got lucky that I was put in a small group with a co-worker who made jokes about it. Intentionally or not, they redirected my thought processes. Maybe that question was why I felt so scattered today. I kept thinking of something to work on and then getting distracted by something else to work on and then forgetting what the first thing was.
